HOW DOES ECL DOOR OF HOPE DIFFER FROM OTHER CHARITIES?

We would unapologetically affirm that Door of Hope is not a large Charity. The positive side being that vast amounts of money are not spent on elaborate overheads and expensive offices.
1. Unlike many Charities, we refuse to spend excessive amounts of cash on lavishly printed leaflets, magazines and brochures in order to attract the attention of potential donors. Trusting the intelligence of the public to perceive the areas of humanitarian need that we are actively supporting, we attempt to avoid the wastage of flamboyant advertising.
2. As hinted at earlier, we endeavour to keep financial overheads at a minimum in order that the greatest percentage of money can be utilised in areas of deprivation. To keep costs low, E.C.L Door of Hope spreads its administration between a house and church rooms.
3. We set out to regard all our supporters, whatever the size of their donation, as friends. They are names, not bland numbers. Everyone will receive a receipt, and our reply letters always contain hand written comments of the British Director in an effort to establish lasting, personal relationships. We are genuinely aware that we only exist because the kindness of our donors.
4. Door of Hope endeavours not to place heavy requests on people when it comes to their financial appeals. Apart from the recipient of the letter not wanting the undue pressure of constant financial demands, it considers it a waste of money. We confine our information appeals to one every two months.
