How ECL Door of Hope works
Door of Hope’s strategy is to work through local partners in the countries where humanitarian needs exist. These representatives have insight, first-hand knowledge of their own community and are chosen because they can be trusted.
- Door of Hope projects include the feeding of street children, orphanages, Youth Detention Centres, medical care, dentistry, education, literacy, work skills.
- Door of Hope endeavours to unlock the potential within children, helping them to develop a sense of personal worth. We are aware that this is important for their future and for the future of the communities from which they come. Our developing literacy and numeracy programmes are helping the children not only to learn and how to play and how to read and write, but to give them a sense of worth and a code of Christian values. We realise the supreme importance of a safe learning environment and a moral framework and hope for their future.
Door of Hope does not discriminate when it comes to religious and philosophical belief. Our prime objective is to assist children who are in need and young people who are endeavouring to find a more constructive existence than the one they are in.
The financial assistance that Door of Hope receives, comes from various donors who have responded to our direct mail appeals that are sent out bi-monthly. Without the generous help of our friends, we could not touch the lives of these poor, deprived children in Eastern Europe. You, the donor are our life blood.
